This observatory/café overlooking the Tottori Sand Dunes was constructed with a hybrid structure of CLT and RC. The CLT finished in exposed structure creates a space overflowing with the warmth of wood. STROOG CLT connectors were used for the legs and joints of the CLTs, which were placed at an angle to the sky. We customized ready made CLT connectors for this project and conducted verification tests by Stroog.test in accordance with the CLT specifications.
