This “House of 33 Years” is located beside Todaiji Temple which was bustling area in the post-war years. It is built on a narrow and long block of land with 6m width and length spanning as much as 30m. It has a large steel-framed roof under which are several unevenly spaced wooden rooms. The main wooden components of the first story were originally exhibited as installation art objects at Aomori Contemporary Art Centre. They were built inside the exhibition hall to be displayed. Then, after the exhibition, they were disassemble and transported to the current location to be reassembled under the large steel-framed roof. Thus, this case also illustrates STROOG connectors’ characteristics of being easy to assemble and disassemble.
