Shishi-Iwa House is an architect-designed retreat in nature. “Shishi-iwa House No.2” is a project with public functions such as a restaurant in addition to lodging. The guest rooms are placed on the first floor, and the second floor is acolumnless large public space covered with timber trusses. The interior and exterior are connected through a wide terrace, creating a large space with a sense of unity with nature. The first floor is a simple wooden space, while the second floor is a dynamic wooden space, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the contrasting exposed structure.
