This is a Laboratory of 14.5m square in plan and 12m high, constructed of CLT. The interior of the building is a large empty space, realized by a ceiling structure of checkerboard CLTs approximately 3 m square. Tensile and shear joints between the CLT wall and foundation use ready-made connectors for CLT, and the interior of the CLT is exposed so that connectors at the joints with no visible, including drift pins and machined holes. For the ceiling framing composed of CLT, newly developed connectors for CLT were used, and for the laminated wood framing, ready-made connectors such as Node.Rigid were used. During design and construction, a BIM model was used to verify the fitting structure and appearance of the structure in advance.
The large space is equipped with a reaction force floor and a rafter crane, and can accommodate a wide variety of tests, as force application machines and test jigs can be freely installed. In addition, construction verification using full-scale mockups is also possible, you can provide a full range of services from joint development to testing and construction verification.
